Ford is recalling over 1 million vehicles!

Ana sayfa / News

Ford has decided to recall more than 1 million vehicles in the US. The decision was made due to a software-related image error in the rearview camera, which causes the driver to be unable to see the rear of the vehicle clearly.

The company’s notification to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated that the image freezing, being delayed or appearing completely black could increase the risk of a crash. This recall covers a large number of models manufactured between 2021 and 2024.

The affected vehicles include the Ford Bronco, Edge, F-150, 2023-2024 Escape, 2022-2024 Expedition, 2024 Mustang, 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E, 2022-2024 Lincoln Navigator and 2021-2023 Lincoln Nautilus.

Ford received the first user reports of a backup camera issue in January. The company said it was only aware of a “minor crash” that occurred as a result of the issue.

The recall will include a software update for the vehicles. Ford said owners can update the updates remotely (OTA) or through authorized dealers. The company faced a similar backup camera issue in 2020 and was fined $165 million by the NHTSA for being slow to fix the issue.

The company also issued two separate recalls in April for 289,000 Bronco, F-Series, and Expedition models, also related to the backup camera. What do you think about this? You can share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
